sick.

so you know that little cold i mentioned kiah got while we were traveling? in addition to giving it to everyone (except me at this point), it also didn't get any better. if anything, his cough got worse and his nose stayed runny. sleeping through the night was long gone. basically my poor babe was mostly in great spirits but obviously didn't feel great.

we paid a visit to the dr upon our return home and learned that kiah has RSV and an ear infection. fantastic. we since have started antibiotics and it seems to be improving. last night might have been the first night in almost a week that i didn't wake up because he was coughing. :(

all of this has resulted in dr jekyl & mr hyde. we'll call him monkey (my normal sweet boy) and cranky (my sick-post-grandma-hangover-whining machine). monkey is usually around in the morning when he's had enough sleep. cranky shows up around 3pm and doesn't go away until dinner, where monkey makes appearances when 1) food is present, 2) bathtime is underway, and 3) he's just been nursed (see #1). cranky had a full-on meltdown in target yesterday but monkey was on hand upon seeing daddy when we got home.
