oh man. time never passed this quickly when i was growing up. now it seems i can hardly get this post written on time before another month comes and goes!!

kiah is so much fun (most of the time)! i am really enjoying this stage. his personality is starting to come out and he's such a goofball! kiah loves his mommy, and his daddy, and anyone else willing to be in his face giving him attention. i do think he has developed a bit of separation anxiety in the past month. i can hardly put him down and leave the room without tears. i am blaming that primarily on his post-grandma hangover, sickness, and teeth though, because he's fine being left in the nursery at church.
some new tricks...clapping his hands! he starting doing this over christmas actually, but when we got home i was working on some signs with him and asked him to clap his hands and he did!! here's the proof...
he still has not mastered crawling. he scootches backwards like a champ but all of the attention (ie. being held and entertained) over the holidays set us back a little. he's also starting doing this crazy pike/down dog position fairly regularly. he then goes on all fours, and just when it looks like he might actually move forward...we get dead fish. so far none of this bothers him. actually that is not entirely true. it bothers him a great deal when he can't reach whatever he wants. just not enough to keep trying to crawl to get it.

he has started to pull himself up on things if they are the appropriate height for him to climb on top of and right after we got back from christmas i got him up from a nap, changed him and then sat him in his crib to play while i finished putting away his clothes and then watched as he grabbed the bumper, pulled, reached the railing, and stood. little stinker! good thing he has no clue how to get from his back to a seated position or we'd be in big trouble!

| time to replace the vents with ones that screw down! |
he is most content when standing, whether that is at his toy table, the windowsill, the couch, in front of you...he doesn't care he just wants to stand. he's taken a couple of spills upstairs on the hardwood floors which always make me feel a little guilty, and then we head downstairs to play on the thickly carpeted floor. :)

| his favorite |
nothing has changed in the food department. this kid eats. a lot. and he likes pretty much everything. we've revisited avocado and i am happy to report he apparently loves it now. he is great at chewing most things that require chewing and will eat chunkier foods as long as they mush a little. his favorite thing to eat, by far, is cheerios. however the way he eats them might be more entertaining than watching him eat (he eats like a bird - his mouth is always open waiting for more).
i have video but it is taking forever to upload - grrrrr. check back for another post.
hilarious, i know! when not eating he's usually talking. lots of adadadadada, nanananana, blowing raspberries or sticking his tongue out in addition to his higher pitched vowel sounds. lately he's added tipping his head to one side to the silly things he does...that one we can't figure out why though. he still loves bathtime, the outdoors, and his latest favorite activity is playing chase + peekaboo. daddy holds and i chase :). his giggles are enough to get us to keep playing!
we are so in love with this little boy! he is so much fun and i am looking forward to watching him grow!
