advent: day 2

ooh day 2 was such fun!! it involved dressing up, going out sans baby, and spending some time with my man! for the past two years we have attended a "lessons and carols" concert at benaroya hall the week prior to christmas. this year we decided to switch it up a bit and attended a traditional christmas concert at benaroya featuring the rainier symphony, northwest university choir, and university presbyterian church choir. the two concerts were similiar - both featured choir and symphony together and both had audience participation (by far the best part!), but that is where the similarities ended.

we started off our evening with dinner at the bar at wild ginger, a local thai seafood infusion place across the street from benaroya. it was very yummy!! we headed over for the concert, found our seats and enjoyed the show. in my honest opinion, the lessons and carols concert was much better. this concert wasn't bad, i just really enjoy the other one. we bolted as soon as it was over, skipping the encore to head back to the eastside and to a christmas party!

our friends throw this pretty large and swanky christmas party every year (except last) and we were bummed it happened to be the same night we had concert tickets. we did manage to make it there before the party was over and enjoy a drink or two! we even caught some friends who hadn't left yet :). it was such a fun night and i really enjoyed the chance to sneak away with eric for some time away from kiah. don't get me wrong...i love that kid to pieces but eric is my first priority (behind Jesus of course). sometimes that priority gets a bit messed up when you have a demanding infant but it needed to be reset. we both decided date night needs to be a much bigger priority!!
